Hi everybody, this is the first post of “Diario di un fundraiser” (Fundraiser’s Diary) written in english.
May be some of you are wondering why I take this decision, the answer is, I hope, simple.
I realize that Italian “market” is not ready for high level thoughts about fundraising.
May be I’m a little bit arrogant but looking at the number of access of my blog, page view and keyword reference…… I understand that what market want is not what I want to give to “him”.
My effort, when I open this blog, was discuss with collegues about technical, ethical and strategical issues on fundraising.
Unfortunatly, after 4 months, I’ve to admit that I fail.
Counting out few discussion (thanks to Francesco, Paolo, Ioana, Genz, Fabio and Raffalele) my visitors seem to be more intersted in personal post (Arrivederci L&P, Saluto ad un amico, ecc.) then in more complicated and time cosuming ones.
Probably this is normal, and understandable and so, with no resentment, I take the decion of enlarge my target trying to speak with more people (even to undestand if the problem is not the market but my posts “themselves”).
As I wrote in the title of this post I don’t think that the answer stay in the middle (after all not in this case).
I want to write about fundraising issue at the highest level that I can and I want to discuss upon it.
If italian market can’t follow me I want to try to speak with other countries where the level of discussion is a “step ahead”, where there is space non only for “how to do” blogs (for italian speaker the best is Francesco Quistelli one) and where readers are even writers (I really think that comments are the soul of a blog).
Finally I apologize with english reader for the level of my English… I swear that I’ll try to improve it! Even for this reason I decide to publish only a post per week (I have to mark my posts to make them understandable 😉 ).
Comments are open, even for italian speaker, and above all for my friends (Ioana, Paolo and Francesco unleash! And please try to change my mind! 🙂 )
